From playing in fields making chains with those tiny classic daisies (Bellis perennis), to spotting the fabulous wildflower Oxeye daisy (Leucanthemum vulgare) in roadside verges, we love the bright splashes of white and yellow that daisies bring into our lives.

So what better way to appreciate these beautiful blooms than by making your own crochet versions to enjoy all year round? Our free crochet daisy pattern by Eleonora Tulley is a lovely rendition of the larger Oxeye daisies.

This daisy crochet pattern includes instructions on how to add yarn-covered wire stems meaning you can easily bunch them together to make a lovely bouquet, complete with a bow to hold them all together.

Notes

The bouquet contains seven daisies. Each daisy is made up of twelve individually made petals. When crocheting Round 1 of the petals, insert your hook under the top strand only of each chain.

When making the Flower Base and central part of the daisy, the pattern is worked using the amigurumi method: work stitches continuously in a spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch. It may help to use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each round, moving it up as you work.

The bow is made in one piece, then attached to a band. The daisy stems are inserted into this band to hold them all together.
